Round 15 action
Heighters end Rosellas double chance hopes
By Daryl Pitman
CHELSEA Heights did its chances of a top-two finish no harm when it outpointed Cheltenham by 26 points in their Round 15 clash at Beazley Reserve.
So often in the past, the Demons have stumbled against the top sides in the big games, but Ryan Flack’s men are on a mission and sit a game clear in second place with only three rounds remaining.
The hosts led all day, with James Norton, in only his fifth senior game this season, showing plenty of dash up forward, to finish with five goals against the highly regarded Cheltenham defence.
The Heighters also had winners in the in-form Brad Gilder, Ash Roberts, Stacy Kelly and the reliable Travis Coote, while Peter Matheson was among the best afield and contributed three handy goals.
The Rosellas were on the back foot from the first quarter, despite a supreme effort from forwards Dominic Dunne, who booted seven of the visitors’ 12 goals, and Andy Taranto, who steered through four.
Others to show out for Chelt were Steven Ott, Matt Whitty, Brett Cuy and Daniel Campisano.
