Rosellas enter finals on a high note
By Daryl Pitman
Cheltenham emerged victorious by 23 points over an inaccurate Clayton at Weatherall Road. The Magpies had plenty of the ball early but sprayed their shots at goal for a half-time scorleine of 1-10.
Although the second half yielded a much more respectable 6-2, the Rosellas were always in control, with Brett Cuy, Marty Gurry and David Ferguson prominent, while Paul Orton was impressive in his first senior game for the season.
The Magpies, however, produced some promising signs for next season, when they will be relegated to Division Two for the first time in the club’s history. Jayden Gilmour, Justin Isaac, Danny Gilmour and Andrew McQuillan were among their best in their final outing for season 2009.
